Local Football Heritage Brings The AFL
To New Hampshire
The Schubert's know a thing or two about
football, and the city of Manchester. Steve played several years in
the NFL, and his brother Jim put together one of the most successful
high school football programs in NH history. Combine this with the
right group of investors, one of the best small stadiums in the
country, and a football crazed fan-base and what do you have.....The
Manchester Wolves.
The Wolves set the stage for their first
Arena Cup Championship in 2005 hiring Ben Bennett, 2004 Arena Cup
Champion. After going 12-4 the Wolves were knocked out of the
playoffs in the second round by American Conference Champions the
Louisville Fire.
Freedom To Put All The Pieces Together In
2006
When the call went out five years ago
for women to play professional football, the response was
astounding. Women from all over NH joined what would grow to be a
successful and exciting professional sport for women. Poor weather
and injuries led to a tough 2005 campaign for the Freedom, but look
for the Freedom to rebound strong in 2006.
